If you thought Islamic terrorism was a modern trend and the result of America’s poking, think again!
America’s first war against Islamic terrorists began in the days of George Washington and spanned a whopping thirty-two years. That war, called the Barbary Powers War, lasted thirty-two years, involved six years of active overseas warfare against Muslim terrorists, and spanned four U. The Barbary Powers (called Barbary pirates by most Americans) attacked American civilian and commercial merchant ships (but not military ships) wherever they found them.
In 1784, Congress authorized American diplomats John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson to negotiate with the Muslim terrorists. Negotiations proceeded, and in 1786, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson candidly asked the Ambassador from Tripoli the motivation behind their unprovoked attacks against Americans. What was the response?

Was not the U.S and much of the western world engaged in it’s own hideous terrorism at the time? Shipping millions of humans from the North west coast of Africa, around Europe and across the atlantic to be slaves. This initiative was blessed by all churches and for a long time raised absolutely no religious protest.

#1) This has nothing to do with Islamic Terrorism. Two wrongs don’t make a right. The point above is that Islamic Terrorism took place before anyone could say we wronged them in any way.
#2) Islam institutionalized slavery. They saw nothing wrong with it.. In fact they were and ARE the most brutal slave owners of all time. Anyway you look at it; Islamic Fundamentalism is a despicable religion. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_and_slavery)
